while this is true, it is completely irrelevant to my argument

they state that the majority of funding for New Deal programs came from consumption taxes, and then decry those taxes by implication as destroying jobs, and yet fail to make any compelling case whatsoever linking the two, in my opinion.

On the whole the argument is a great study in missing the forest for the trees.
