It was intelligent, adult, and very funny. The only weak part was the (it only felt long) opening scene with Rango in his tank.

I'm also not clear why the "Spirit of the West" was out with a metal detector searching for fish hooks. I mean, I get why the fish hooks were there. I just don't understand why he was doing this. Whatever the analogy there was, it totally went over my head.
