A while back we had a discussion that touched on the Equity Funding scandal. I got sidetracked and didn't follow up at the time but...

the whistle-blower in this case, Ron Secrist, was Bill's direct boss at the company that first brought us from Canada to California in 1968. We heard direct stories about how the execs would sit around the board table and invent policy applications, sell them off to reinsurance companies, and then process phony death claims and collect the proceeds. I need to read Ray Dirks' book.
