Unless the banks have come to their senses and figured out it really is in their best interest to allow them to go through instead of hemming/hawing..

till the whole thing collapses in a massive loss at auction, they tend to hem and haw till the whole thing collapses in a mess to be sold at auction.
they just don't go through, AFAIK, from what I've heard, from a few posts here and the efforts my SO made (true that was 2 or 3 years ago now) where she was so sure she spent money on the inspections etc and even had an escrow date
