The haphazard description of the brothel was such that I didn't see any tangible financial gains. They wanted her to dance for The Mayor but there wasn't any explanation as to why. Similarly, she was presumed to give her virginity to the High Roller but if the dude was so obsessed with her and he viewed the women as property, why was he in such a rush to give that to somebody else? That character simply did not work for me in any capacity. Even the last bit with the men acting uncomfortable as he prepared for the rape was odd. Were they in with the police? If not, I don't buy their behavior at all.
