Open up windows media player (in Win 7), click on Library, choose "import all files".

You'll need to point at your entire music directory in Win XP. Media Player should extract all your music files, regardless of the directory they're in. In XP, iTUNES live in c:/users/your name/my music/itunes/itunes music.

Also, in Win Media Player, go into tools and set the preferences for all types of media files to be played in WMP. Then get rid of iTUNES.
