Background: Weve just replaced the security system in our historical village/museum because the old one was obsolete and also ran on a similar frequency to local police radios. We had periodic false alarms due to patrol cars parking in the village at break time the P.D. would then charge us a false alarm fee. The following happened prior to the replacement.
3:00am the society president gets a call from the alarm company, possible break-in at one of the buildings.
Okay, Ill run down and check it out
Shall we call the police?
No, let me check it first
(picture pres as a rough diamond type who wears his hair in a ponytail under a ball capbut not at 3:00am)
He pulls into the village, gets out of his truck, and is approached by one of Garden Groves finest.
Can I help you sir?
Im just here to turn off the alarm and reset it
I dont hear any alarm
No, the security company called and said it was triggered
The police havent had any report
No, I told them not to call you. I have keys to all the buildings, see? Ill just run in and reset the system
Weeeellll, okay
Pres goes inside, checks that everythings in order, comes out and theres now a sergeant on scene who agrees that everything seems fine, but:
You know Ive always wanted to take the tour here but never gotten around to it. Being you have the keysI dont suppose youd want to give us a quick tour?
So at 4:00am(approx) Tim gives them a tour of the museum.
Board Treasurer: Did they pay for it?
Tim: Nope
Me: Did they at least invite you out for coffee and donuts?
Nope :(
