There is no possible way that she believed he was only asking if they had dated multiple times and had a relationship. She basically admits as much. She didn't want to disclose it to him and she found a loophole to justify her response. It's may not be technically "lying", but it's disingenous. It's like Clinton saying he didn't have sex with Monica Lewinski because she only gave him a blow job.
