I feel you. I'm the oldest mommy at daycare. But, I have a theory.

People are living longer, so I think eggs last longer. This is probably not true, but it's what I told/tell myself.
Right now I'm up all night feeling sad that we are too poor to try for another one. You know, since I convinced myself it's possible.
