on sheet one, yes, names will likely appear more than once, each with a different date. I need to capture up to the first four instances. - znufrii Apr 4, 15:16 9

        the harder part will be cleaning up the data on sheet 1 to make sure the company names are all consistent with what I have on sheet 2. - znufrii Apr 4, 15:28 2
        
        if the first part of the names is always correct, you can do "left([number of chars]) to choose the first part of the word. - loosilu Apr 4, 16:02 1
