I decided to give each group/artist multiple songs so I could hear a bunch of the stuff.
So far:
Devo: Not bad, something about them isn't clicking with me, but I don't hate.
Joy Division: Pretty good so far, but I agree with the "production" problems that were mentioned yesterday.
Depeche Mode: Really love what I've heard. Definitely listening to more. Really good suggestion.

I'm not a Devo fan, but they were ahead of their time (at the time). Depeche Mode and The Cure would probably be your best bets. -- nm
