I'm with you. Seems to me that 2 cops should have been able to grab the kid and disarm him without injury to any of them.

He had a piece of trim, not a knife.
I don't know, maybe I had to be there, but it sure seems like 2 grown adults, who are trained for this, should be able to disarm an 8-year old with no injuries (or pepper spray.)
I mean, why not just tase him, you have to get kinda close to use pepper spray. :)
