I know that for players like me, the messed up radar is quite distracting.

Players are finding ways to incorporate it with other attacks that make it even deadlier. Truman pointed out last night that what I thought was a flying attack combined with someone using a lift was actually two people using a lift, one of them invisible. That's genius.
