i'm so frustrated with Quality Paperback bookclub... has anyone ever used them?

I joined a few years go, have long since fullfilled my purchase requirements, and got tired of sending back cards all the time telling them I didn't want anything.

Then, several months ago, I sent in a letter asking that my account be closed. Naturally, a few weeks later I got another one of the regular mailings. Okay, so maybe it was already in the process of being sent out and they didn't get my close-account request soon enough. That's understandable and certainly possible.

So I sent in another request to have my account closed.

And naturally, I got yet another regular mailing, card to send back in, etc.

ANd I sent in yet another request, and naturally got yet another mailing.

Then about a week or so ago, I got yet another mailing, and I sent in yet one more request to have the account closed. I wa polite as I could be in the note, under the circumstances, while firmly telling them to PLEASE close the account.

Then I get a book in the mail yesterday from them that I did not order. I called the customer service number and was told that this book was ordered on March 29, about the time that I sent in the most recent request to close the account. They told me that this wasn't an 'auto ship' book and that it wasn't a featured selection, etc., that it was in fact something a person would have filled the ordering number in on a card or otherwie done something through the website, etc. to order. I politely informed the representative that I had no recollection of ordering this book, and that it would have made no sense for me to do so given my several recent attempts to close the account, and that I would not have ordered a book that would have cost me almost $23 with shipping at the present time given that I've been out of work for a while and am trying hard just to keep current on bills, etc. neverminding ordering a book or anything like this. And I've never even heard of this book or its author. I don't know anything about it, what it's about, etc.

She is taking care of it and putting something in to have my account closed.

With all of that in mind, who wants to place bets on how many more mailings I get before the account is finally closed?
