I think it's just a case where he wasn't in good enough shape to do it. Ponder is oddly in the same situation yet his stock is rising.

Strange things happen during draft season. There is no reason or rhyme to it. All I know is that Bowers was someone I considered to be one of the ten best players in this draft when the season ended. If the Falcons get him without having to give up a slew of draft picks, I'll be ecstatic. He's a very cool kid, too. He'd be easy to root for and an entire town would travel to see him play in Atlanta.
