There's no end of speculation on Arab streets that Egypt green-lit the attacks, too.

So long as Hamas is running Gaza, nothing's gonna get done in terms of the peace process, and Egypt has to contend with that nasty border issue. The sooner Hamas is gone, the sooner Egypt can normalize its border.
