Me: only child. My wife: 1 of 3. We had our first daughter, she wanted more, I wanted one.

After 4 years, she had resigned to the fact that we were just going to have one child - then the second came along.
I love both of my girls more than anything - but the second one (now pushing 10) has been 10x tougher on my patience than the first one was.
I think it all has to do with the parents and environment, I think. My girls are (thus far) turning out alright.
I can say that I'm glad they are 5 years apart in age. One entered school (so out of $ daycare) just about when the other went in. The short period they were both in daycare was crazy expensive. Likewise, one was out of diapers and could "help," now the older can babysit as well.
I don't think I'd survive babies a year or so apart.

Also, i talked to one of my owners right before lunch. They waited to have their baby until they were nearly 40 . The baby is 8 months old today.

Yeah, I give The Bub all of me I can. I know I could not a.) do it again and b.) at the same time as him.

Looks like this is going to be our schedule, though I wanted them closer together.

I seriously think that hormones completely changed my brain and made me baby crazy. There's no rational reason for how I feel. -- nm

If I have kids I know I'd want one but if I had to have two I'd want them spaced apart too. -- nm
