Just for the record, Flacco had a better completion percentage and a higher yards per attempt ratio than Manning had his rookie season.

I actually think yards alone are overvalued by the people who vote on those awards, like wins for pitchers. As such, being less than 30 yards from 3000 should have garnered at least a vote.
