LYC: zork's last 10 days (not ever, I hope) ...
zork Apr 11 '11, 14:35
not this past weekend but the one before (apr. 2 and 3) we had a fairly impromptu garage sale on the sunday (the 3nd). Later on the wednesday I was informed we were going to do it. on the thursday, mrs. zork put up ads on craigslist and kijiji and friday morning i put up a big sign on our side fence (we have a corner lot with the side on a fairly busy street) and a couple on the corners leading off the major street nearby. went really well. we made just short of $700 (woooo!!) which is really needed since mrs. zork is about four months between work projects (plus she's been sick for months too - good thoughts appreciated). this past saturday we had a bin delivered to toss crap that i've been accumulating for years and had another impromptu sale of some furniture we wanted to get rid of (plus a home gym that's never used). she suggested it saturday morning near noon and we decided to make it that day between 3 and 7. made another $125 (woo!). anyway, while going to get stuff out of the shed back on the 2nd, there was an animal in there that moved suddenly as i opened the door. turned out to be a cat and she was staying up in the gap between the wall and the roof and watching me ... because (turns out) she had a litter of kittens in a flower pot. they already had their eyes open so they were there during some really cold nights (poor things). we have been feeding and giving her water, and put up some FOUND signs. nobody called all week but now apparently someone left a message that they've been missing a similar cat for a couple of months. hopefully Mama is theirs because those kittens need to see a vet and have human interaction soon before becoming feral. leaving for the train now but will check tonight to see if anyone cares and has questions or suggestions.
