In the editing, a scene was dropped that acted as a bridge, the needed to add info to the Neeson scene, but he wasn't available for reshoots.

So they went with Nick.
I doubt anyone is being snubbed other than Mel Gibson who was the first choice for the tattoo artist. The cast refused to work if he was hired, which resulted in Neeson being cast.
