i have a mac question - someone has sent me an excel file from a PC. but for some reason the extension is showing up as

how can i just RENAME it? it won't let me open it with Excel because it 'doesn't recognize the format', which is know is just excel? (and, i can usually open things from her.)

It might be from office 2007 Their extentions now have x's at the end -- nm

which you can turn off, and have them saved as regular .doc or .xls files if you know the recipient doesn't have Office 2007 -- nm
