be overkill for them at the moment and that you're worried that by them having too much of a good thing will only serve to make them rebel against whatever faith you are. And so you want to give them space to make it seem like you're not pushing your kids to church. At the moment it seems like a chore to them, you need space away from the choir so that they can find the joy again in going to church.
Paint it that way and you kind of cut the legs out from under her if she was thinking of treating you with indignation. This way, you're the holier than thou :)
