it's the 'no exceptions' rule. Once you make an exception for a class of people, the bad guys will find out and exploit it.

I would have no problem if it was my child. Hell, I've got no problem if they want to pat down every single person boarding a plane if it makes sure I get to where I'm going without blowing up.
