In response to "what solution ended up working for you ? -- nm" by decline

I put it up on b2 in case it happened to anyone else

I had to go here:
http://forum.tegratab.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16

put a vanilla-version (bare bones) on a microSD (and change the recovery\command text file so that "SDCARD" says "SDCARD2" like it says) and do a restore.

After that I had to do a Factory Restore / Wipe Data. Then rebooted, but it hung up again. I powered down, then did the power + volume+ again and it brought me to the main boot screen.

I had to do a bit of playing around with upgrading to the most recent TnT version and rebooting it

Progress!
