If the poll gets any play at all, I can see a mass shift of voters from the Libs to the NDP, creating momentum.

It won't unseat the Tories from a government, but it will all but guarantee another minority as seats that may have been split in the past between the two left-leaning parties (giving the Conservatives the edge) will not go solidly left.
It will also fuel discussion of a merger needed to revitalize the left.
