I'm fascinated with the art, the archives and the Swiss Guard. This show has it all.
Now I'm really intrigued. They've found a letter from Abraham Lincoln to Pope Pius, a purely diplomatic bureaucratic letter. It went unanswered. But, they've also found a letter from Jefferson Davis, very emotional, asking the Pope to pray for the confederate soldiers and civilians dying every day. The Pope replied, refered to Jefferson Davis as "President" and caused quite the diplomatic incident in Washington.
I love this kind of stuff. :)
