You'll love them. 4 in print, 5 is due in July. A good portion of 6 is written.

Martin's been writing book 5 for about 6 years and as he's written certain things haven't worked out for book 5 so they've moved to book 6. About 1/3 of book 6 is written last I heard.
I would guess the process of completing 6 will result in writing some of 7 along the way. :-)
It's worth waiting for, IMO. The books are massive, intricate and complex. Plus, he sold the series rights, so I hardly fault him for taking time away from writing to enjoy that success. Who wouldn't be on-set if their books got picked up for TV or theater?
