I don't understand why this article "Mich. Lawmaker's Plan Requires Foster Kids to Shop at Thrift Stores" is causing so much outrage

I've always been a thrift shopper who thinks clothes, unless on deep clearance, are usually way overpriced at stores anyway. Asking kids to shop thrift is not like asking them to sift through a landfill.

Plus I think it'll build character. Your clothes do not make who you are, and spend wisely!
