(I think the prices are "adjusted" slightly to make the game more fun ... there's little incentive to be accurate on the face of things)

If the prices were 100% accurate with BO performance, the game would be a yawnfest. So I think that HSX juggles the actual "market cap" with a virtual modifier that inflates or deflates numbers a bit. They sell the predictions based on the actual market cap, I think.
