1Q11: AA lost $450 million, Delta lost $318 million, United Continental lost $136 million

Amusingly, AA's results were touted as 'better than expected'. The airlines overall saw revenue growth but fuel, fuel, fuel killed them.

"Despite a $351 million rise in year-over-year fuel expense, American reduced its net loss by $47 million."


Jetblue made $45 million
Southwest made $20 million (down 16.7% from 1Q10)
