As an aside, you should confirm your IMAP settings externally (public Internet) using Windows Live mail or another desktop client like Thunderbird

just to be sure. As for your iapd (I assume iPad), you can set it up as an email account for sure. I think you'd have to disable push notifications for email though for it to be a "push update to download" type setup.
