obviously the bridesmaid doesn't value the friendship that much. so maybe the bride needs to evaluate this.

that is my point. The bridesmaid isn't acting like a friend. So, with someone like that, what's the big deal about ending a barely there friendship? Unless this is her only friend in which case I see the difficulty and I feel sorry for her.
