Planning on inheritance seems nuts to me, but I think planning that SS won't exist when we retire is way too far in the other direction.

Politicians can't get their act together enough to even slightly modify it, and yet we think the program is going to be scrapped altogether in 30 years and old people left to starve and die? come on.

Also, I'm ready for our pension plan to be scrapped at any point, but I have vested benefits. Vested is vested.
