well, the 'bonus scene' at the end of the credits showed a cosmic cube, and showed Loki there, so there's always a chance he could use that power to 'reconnect' with Asgaard ....
and even if they don't... the comment was made during the movie, I want to say by Loki himself ... to paraphrase, "there ARE other ways into Asgaard" ...
