was that we never saw/knew whether or not other players were getting help, we just assumed.

And the 'chutes only came when she absolutely needed it the most, when she was in a situation where nothing else could possibly help her.

Almost as though the author thought of these crazy horrible situations to put her in...and then when there was no way out..."aw, fuck it...I'll just send another magic parachute."

Seemed like a plot device written as a get out of jail free card more than anything else.
