I hadn't changed any of the settings.
The only thing I did differently is I've been having to use the safely remove hardware feature for my external hard drive when shutting down because I kept getting a Power State Drive Failure BSOD, and that was one of the fixes suggested (and it did work; haven't had any BSOD since starting to do that).
