fwiw, I don't think it's that bad.

if he'd added "restaurant" or "food scene" after "second-tier" he would have been correct. could have been more circumspect by saying it's up-and-coming or the like instead, though.

as for the other part, he's not actually saying he is a big fish yet, is he? it's "where you can be.."
