Also, there was a debate earlier this year about whether ELR's elimination would kill the ratings of Survivor.

The first three episodes of the season averaged 11.134 million viewers. The final three episodes of the season averaged 11.62 million viewers. So, the show's ratings at the end increased 4.4% in his absence.
This was also as consistent as the show has ever been in terms of ratings. The premiere had 11.16 million viewers. Out of the thirteen remaining episodes aired this season, eleven were in the range of 10.9 - 11.3 million viewers. Other than the people who tune in for the finale just to see who wins, this is one of the most loyal, reliable fanbases on television right now.

Semi-related: Why has this guy Rob been on the show four times? Is no one else auditioning to get on or do people love him that much?

I am clearly not a Survivor fan, so my opinion means next to nothing, but it does seem a sad commentary on the show's game itself that

I thought the recap at the beginning of the finale was remarkably concise.
