The more apt comparison would be to look at it like the pga tour. There's only one winner of each tournament, but the rankings are based on combined

finishes because even great players won't win every week. His consistent high finishes are hard to ignore. I don't really watch the shows much, but it amazes that he could win in his 3rd or 4th try since I would think it would get harder each time, not easier. He should have been a marked man. Every other player had the chance to study his previous games, while he mostly was in cold.
