Working quickly now, the hens press forward, although their resolve is morphing into rushed action. So fast, in fact, that they almost immediately turn on mara again, knowing this time there was no saving her. When the feathers cleared, there was no fox underneath. Just a plain ol' innocent chicken lying lifeless in the dirt.

Once more rattled, as their luck seemed to be running out, the chickens went back into a nervous sleep. But they didn't sleep long. As Hen Ty97 got up in the middle of the night to use the little chick's room, he discovered the body of Hen Beaker, who poorly timed his announcement of being the Vigilant Hen.

The end approaches. Day Six dawns. Five votes until nightfall.
