I noticed this last game too. It behooves the hens to follow the pack unless they really feel strongly not to.

It's like the improv rule of "never say no". Acting contrary is bad. Let someone lead and then evaluate and comment. Sudden contrary votes, unnecessary weirdness, etc... it makes you look fox-like. And if you know you're not a fox, then you're distracting the team from the goal.
