How about Cyber Monday? How's that for a hoax.

About 3-4 years ago, news stations started reporting that the Monday after Black Friday was known as "Cyber Monday", stating it matter-of-fact, as if Cyber Monday had existed for years. In fact, they were just parroting a press release they had just received from a retailer's organization that had just invented the term. Savvy internet shoppers were left scratching their heads... "Cyber Monday? Huh?"
