one of the regular stars just went *up* a tree carrying a big pinecone in his mouth. I've seen him/her go up with smaller items, especially when it was nest-building time; but usually the pinecones are seen dropping down when he's done eating the nuts out of them. they fall from way up and make a satisfyingly loud noise when they hit a concrete walkway thingie outside.

he's been extra active the last day or so, almost as much as when nesting. perhaps he senses something coming....

dum-dum-DUMMMM.
