I agree that we didn't *need* a new one. That it was a pure business decision first, and slapstick moviemaking second.

It doesn't break any new ground unless you count the concept of having most of your franchise taken away and rebuilt with new set pieces.
It's Scream 4.
It's Fast and the Furious.
It will be Hobbit too.
