All kidding aside, after Countdown and Final Crisis, why did people have any faith in DC anyway?

This does reinforce the difference between Marvel and DC in terms of seeing the big picture. Marvel builds to a movie methodically and meticulously. DC has a movie coming out in a few days yet everything about their product has been thrown into chaos. That entire organization is amateur hour.
