Quite honestly, one of the reasons I gravitated to Marvel over DC when reading comics as a youth was too many DC heros were named ______-man.

Batman. Superman. Hawkman. Aquaman.
I felt like those were superhero names that I (as a then 10-year old) could make up myself. Compare that to names like The Incredible Hulk, Captain America (ok that's kinda lame), Thor, Wolverine, Quicksilver, Cyclops, Mephisto. Those were cool.
