He interviewed them on the sidewalk - it caught me offguard because I didn't think I was in violation.

or at least to the degree that they would actually arrest me and impound the vehicle. Anyway, I wouldn't ask clients to lie for me, I would just not do the job, which is what my only option is now.... no more airport trips in my car.
