I've got dozens of Duracell AAA's which are actually Sanyo Eneloops (the kind that don't lose their charge over time). Safeway was clearing them out.

It's one of the best investments I ever made. Just charge them up and then leave them sitting around until you need them. Current generation Duracell's aren't rebranded Eneloops, but you can still get Eneloops with the Sanyo label. Look for 'em on eBay.
