Speaking of books alone, I don't know why I ever picked up another HP book after Chamber of Secrets. Easily the weakest of the series.

Just finished re-reading Chamber of Secrets with my son. It's twelve chapters of bleh followed by two chapters of something actually happening.
More than any other book, this one screams "JUST TELL DUMBLEDORE!" Stupid kid, that Potter.
