The only scary thing about it to me

was the getting older and thinking back on it, on what *could* have happened. The robber didn't act like he was going to shoot anyone. He simply brandished his snubnosed revolver skyward, and he was having a calm conversation with our mom about how she was going to let him into the house. While this exchange was taking place, some undercover cops drove up and took him away. I don't remember anyone in that scenario having heightened nerves/freaking out.
